Twin Caves offer shelter from unpredictable weather

6 climbers defied the rainy weather last Sunday and scrambled up to Twin Caves in Ghar Lapsi for some more climbing practice. This well-chosen location offered decent shelter from the sporadic rain showers and intimidating thunder. Marlon Vassallo, Miriam Gauci and Cheryl Aquilina all top roped Rat Race E1 5a, whilst Edward Sciberras successfully completed his first lead on trad gear on Twin Caves Pillar VS 4c. Two new lines were also top-roped, one to the left of Rat Race and the other to the right, from inside the cave onto the slippery rock outside. The views from the top of each climb were well worth the effort – with large black clouds hovering over parts of the sea and the sun shining in other areas.
