LOs inserted and bolting work done on Honey Buttress

After the morning’s climbing at Honey Buttress, Andrew Warrington and Edward Sciberras spent the afternoon scrambling all over the face of Honey Buttress to install LOs and bolts to improve the infrastructure there.

Lower offs (LOs) have been installed as follows:

  • Fly With Me – 2-bolt LO
  • Qaghaq tal-Ghasel – chain & screw-gate LO
  • Honey & Cream – chain & screw-gate LO

None of these LOs have been tested yet so please always back up the LO the first time it is used. Once tested, let us know so we can remove this notice.

Previously a chain & screw-gate LO had been installed by Andrew on A Taste of Honey. These have been extensively tested.

A Taste of Honey was also retro-bolted with the permission of the first ascensionist (Jeff Camilleri) and with the addition of 4 bolts is now a fully-bolted sport route graded 7a+

A week earlier, Andrew had installed an abseil point on Chapel Buttress to make the descent from the crag a little more slick. This abseil point was tested by Andrew last week.
